  1. How is SouthwestRentals different from the other rental sites? SouthwestRentals is the first interactive rental site servicing all counties in Southern California. The posted rentals have broader visibility than sites that support only the local area. SouthwestRentals contains many advanced features such as saving rentals during and between sessions, a DetailedSearch, Search by Map, and searching for your Dream Home . If you are a landlord or property manager, SouthwestRentals let's you post more than one rental with your account and you can make any rental inactive if it is rented and re-activate if it later becomes available.

  2. How much will it cost to use your site? Posting rentals is always free. Renter membership is free during our introductory period.

  3. What is your refund policy? If you don't find your rental on SouthwestRentals.com during your membership period, we will refund you $35.00 of your membership fee. Just send in a copy of the signed lease, including your landlord's name and phone number to:

  4. Why should I register? Registration provides you with many benefits, including; renter access to the rental property's contact name, address and phone number. The ability to save interesting rentals within a session and from session to session. The next time you login you will have those rentals immediately available for viewing. Landlords must register to post rentals. The rentals are assigned an ID and are associated with your Landlord ID. When you login you will be in My Home and can update your rental's information immediately.

  5. Can I search for a rental without registering? Yes, you may search for rentals but you will not be able to contact the landlord. The rentals contact name, address and phone number are only available to registered members. Additionally you will not be able to save rentals from session to session and you can not use our Dream Home search.

  6. Are rental photos available for viewing? Yes. If the Landlord submitted a photo of their rental, when that rental is displayed, just click on the camera image and the rental's photo will appear. If the camera has the "not" sign over it, a photo has not been submitted for the rental.

  7. How do I submit a photo for a rental? Landlords can submit a single photo for a rental. Photos can be in nearly any format (e.g. jpeg, GIF). Trey to keep the file smaller than 300K bytes in size. The photo should be at least 250 pixels tall. After you have posted a rental click the "Send a Photo" at the top of the page or click My Home in the black menu bar and a camera will appear for that rental in the "Rental Summary". Fill out the form and click "Submit Photo". You photo should appear with 24 hours.
    Note: make sure the Rental ID field is entered on the form. If you have more than one rental posted we will not know which rental to associate your photo with.

  8. How do I change the photo for a rental? Click the "Send a Photo" at the top of the page. Fill out the form and click "Submit Photo". You new photo should appear with 24 hours.
    Note: make sure the Rental ID field is entered on the form. If you have more than one rental posted we will not know which rental to associate your photo with.

  9. I found some rentals that I would like to consider. How do I contact the landlord? You must be a registered member and logged in get the rental's contact name, address and phone number. Click the camera image in the last column when rentals are displayed.

  10. What are all the different ways I can search for a rental or candidate on SouthwestRentals? There are three main ways of searching for rentals, the DetailedSearch, Search by Map and the Dream Home search.

  11. Is my registration information kept private? Yes. Your personal registration information will not be used for marketing, and it will not be shared with any third parties.

  14. I just registered as a renter. Do I also need to design a Dream Home? No. Designing a Dream Home allows you to enter specific rental criteria that is saved and easily searched. You can define many preferences for your rental and these will be stored with your Renter ID. You can also remodel your dream Home to change these search criteria. If you have a Dream Home designed, simply click on Dream Home in the black menu bar and SouthwestRentals will display all the rentals that meet your needs.

  15. What are the minimum cookie settings for SouthwestRentals to take full advantage of its benefits? The settings are different for Internet explorer and Netscape Navigator. SouthwestRentals does not store cookies on your hard drive. They will only exist during this session.

    Internet Explorer: The minimum setting for Internet Explorer can be set in the Tools > Internet Options ... dialog box. Click the Security tab and the Custom Level... button. Scroll down to Cookies, to enable Allow per session cookies (not stored).

    Netscape Navigator: The minimum setting for Netscape Navigator can be set in the Edit > Preferences... dialog box. Click on Advanced, and enable Accept only cookies that get back to the originating server. Alternatively you can enable Accept all cookies.
